Got a rather fast one in today...Fast, but enough accomplished for me to be satisfied for now. I started off with some Standing Behind the Neck Snatch(wide) grip strict presses, the only difference is i used my heavy chains for these. I did all singles for the working sets. I worked up to 160lbs plus the chains that add up to around 100lbs maybe more...I was okay with this. If it was straight weight it would make it around 270 for a behind the neck wide grip strict press. I then moved on to french presses out of the rack, or standing barbell skull crushers(except the bar goes to the back of the neck. I did 100lbsx3 135lbsx2 185lbsx1... and then did 205lbsx1. Finally I finished up with some grip work with the grippers, and some one armed dumbell snatches with the thick bar. Have a great week. God Bless.

Now we can all get back to reality and recognize that the upcoming Lesnar vs Carwin fight is the match to determine the # 1 mma heavyweight in the world.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far! Todays training started with some form work in the power jerk. This has been my pet lift for a few years, and I have taking some time off of it just to switch some things up. I did 8 singles today with light/moderate weights to get the feeling back. I did a few singles with 350lbs and it felt really good and snappy...so i plan on to increase the form work in weight each week. After this I moved to some strict standing overhead lockouts...meaning i didnt get under it and use leg drive to get the weight up. I did 225x3/315x2/405x1/425x1/450x1. The bar was resting about 6 inches above my head, and I used a close grip with these. After that I did some hang muscle snatches for 3 sets of 2 reps. I finished off with one set of keg rows for 5 reps. God Bless.

More maintaining work...trying to go moderate or as heavy as comfortably possible...I started off with some overhead squats with a close grip. This movement is a crucial assistance movement for heavy overhead work. As one would imagine it hits everything and most importantly makes your core strong. I did 5 singles at around 225lbs. I have the USAWA world record in this lift with 271. I have done high box squats with these up to around 350lbs. All of them felt pretty good and easy. I then did an odd type of lift...Standing one armed barbell presses(Strict). These are just like regular standing overhead presses out of the rack...except using one arm. They are a challenge. I worked up to a few heavy singles, and ended up at around 115 for both arms. I finished off with some grip work...using the captains of crush. Hope everyone is having a great week. God Bless.

Without a doubt, the breakdown of the human family is one of the biggest contributors to moral decline and the depravity of modern society. Divorce rates now exceed 50%, and it’s devastating effect on the world is seen as children are left without the positive role models that God intended. One of the most important things missing in most kids lives today is the example of a godly father or mother.
The Apostle Paul addresses this issue with leadership, or what might be better described as discipleship, with the church in Corinth in 1 Corinthians 4 starting in verse 14, as he figuratively uses the metaphor of himself as a spiritual father. In this passage, we can find truth to guide us, whether we are earthly fathers, or earthly mothers or in the spiritual realm as we disciple others. And whether or not you even have children, all of us are instructed to “go into all the world and make disciples”. Just like there is a need for human role models in our physical lives, there is also a desperate need for spiritual role models in the church as well. There are a whole lot of spiritual orphans out there that need someone to take them under their wing, or adopt them as a son or daughter or big brother or sister.
Number one, the mark of a spiritual father is that he has children. Verse 15, "Though you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, you have a lot of teachers, not many fathers. No, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel." A spiritual father reproduces. God wants us to bear fruit.
Secondly, a spiritual father not only has children but he loves his children. Jesus said they will know you are my disciples by your love for one another.
Third, a spiritual father admonishes. Paul exposes their sin, not to shame them, but to correct them. As a father sees a child engaging in something harmful, he will admonish, or correct them out of love. Revelation 3: those whom I love I rebuke and discipline.
Fourth, a spiritual father not only has children and loves and admonishes, but he sets the example. And maybe this is the most important thing at all. Verse 16, "Wherefore I beseech you, be imitators of me”. To disciple someone speaks not of just teaching them, but showing them by example.
Fifthly, he teaches. And here we come to the fact that there has to be the giving of principles, the end of verse 17. He will remind you of my ways, which are actually Christ’s ways, which I teach everywhere, in every church. Matt. 28 again, “Go and make disciples, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you.”
Finally, a spiritual father disciplines. Sometimes it is necessary to use the rod and a characteristic of a godly spiritual father is that they will use it when necessary. An even bigger danger than abuse of this principle is the opposite extreme which is neglect. So many Christians are being neglected by spiritual fathers that are either too busy or too self centered, to be much earthly or spiritual good. The need has never been greater or more urgent. I pray you will answer the challenge.
As for my training I have found that if i think i am in a hurry and need to rush...the training isnt as good. I did some snatch grip high pulls from the hang..I did a 5 sets x 3 for those, and afterwards worked some timed singles in the Standing btn press...nothing spectacular, the high pulls were to the throat, and they were explosive. I wasnt as strong on the btn presses. Which could of been a result from the high pulls. Anyway...cant complain! God Bless!
